Special Voters Meeting
Good Shepherd has scheduled a special voters’ meeting for Sunday November 24th at 9:10 a.m. (between the early and late services). All are welcome to attend and be informed and inquire. Voters are encouraged to carefully render a decision. Up for a vote will be the question of making use of Grace In Action, a para-synodical group that assesses the staffing needs of WELS congregations based on the congregation’s goals. Attendees will be informed of the services being offered by Grace In Action. Also up for a vote will be the question of whether Good Shepherd employs former school teacher and principal–and current pastoral student–Ben Raddatz to coordinate guest preachers, and to work with Jeff Krumbein on producing Good Shepherd’s orders of service.
Area Women’s Study
Our Area Women’s Bible Study will meet Tuesday, November 19th at 6:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church to study the Lord’s Prayer. This precious prayer was given by our Savior to teach us to pray. Its words resonate with holiness and its petitions teach us how to pray for every need. Christendom has revered and cherished the Lord’s Prayer for more than 2,000 years. Join us as we meditate on its treasures. This will be the last Bible study class in 2024. Class will resume in January 7th at Faith Lutheran Church.
JLL Teachers Needed
Jesus’ Little Lambs has been blessed with multiple center families and staff in the last several months who have had or are expecting babies. We are looking to hire a substitute teacher for maternity leave starting in mid January through mid April. If you, or someone you know, would like to serve the ministry in this unique way, please contact Kendra Norris at 920-921-8500 or norris@gshep.net. The hours would be full time and mostly between 7am-5pm. You would be working in a classroom with a regular full-time staff as an assistant. If desired this could turn into a year-round position.
Food Drive
We will once again be collecting non-perishable food items during the month of November. The Outreach team will divide the food items and bag them up to be delivered in December to people in need here in Fond du Lac. We will include an invitation to join us on Christmas Eve to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Good Shepherd will be holding an Advent by Candlelight for all women of the congregation, and their female family members, friends, and neighbors on Sunday, December 8th beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. This is a wonderful afternoon of the Word, music, and fellowship to help you prepare your hearts for the Advent season before the holidays get into full swing!

WLA Kitchen Help
In order to help keep costs low and to engage congregations who belong to the WLA federation, WLA is soliciting kitchen help from members of Good Shepherd for two weeks during the school year for 4-hour shifts. The dates are December 9th-13th and February 10th-13th. If you are able to help serve in the kitchen during any of these dates, please sign your name to one of the sheets on the narthex counter.
LWMS National Convention
Next year’s National LWMS Convention will be held from June 26th – 29th in Tulsa, OK. Both men and women are invited to attend the convention and learn more about the world-wide WELS missions that took place/are taking place in 2024-2025! To learn more go to lwms.org.
100 Missions in 10 Years
At the 2021 Synod Convention, delegates enthusiastically approved a WELS Home Missions initiative to plant 100 home mission churches and enhance 75 ministries in 10 years beginning in 2023. During the same time, we want to support 75 enhancement grants to help existing congregations reach more souls, often in other cultures. This is a BIG challenge. An impossible one you might say. But this initiative isn’t as much about planting more churches but about sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s about aggressively reaching lost souls. We pray that God will bless our efforts, trusting that he is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Learn more about this initiative, stay up-to-date on progress, and learn how you can get involved in this synodwide church planting effort at wels100in10.net.
Call a Pastor
Please remember that a pastor is called to be a shepherd of souls. He leads and feeds the flock with God’s Word and Sacrament. Please be assured that the pastors stand ready to assist you with your spiritual needs. Contact Pastor Zimpelmann or Pastor Grunewald with any questions or concerns.
